Action alert from the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance:
We ask that if you are in or near Harris County, please support this woman & local food consumers by appearing at the trial in Pasadena next Wednesday, June 14. Details are below.
While the Texas Department of State Health Services initiated the harassment of raw milk farmers and consumers last summer, it later stated that it will not pursue customers who are making legal purchases, nor the people they hire as agents to pick up milk for them. (Read more here.)
Action alert from the Weston A. Price Foundation:
We have an exciting opportunity to expand access to locally produced meat for consumers around the country! U.S. Representatives Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Chellie Pingree (D-ME) have introduced legislation to make it easier for small farms and ranches to sell locally raised and processed meat to consumers.
H.R. 3187, the Processing Revival and Intrastate Meat Exemption (PRIME) Act, would give individual states the freedom to permit intra-state distribution of custom-slaughtered meat to individual consumers and to restaurants, hotels, and grocery stores that directly serve consumers. Custom-processed beef, pork, lamb, and goat are covered under the bill.
Action Alert from the Weston A. Price Foundation: Draft Proposal for the new 2015 Dietary Guidelines
Deadline for comments April 8, 2015
The federal Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee has released its draft proposal for the new 2015 Dietary Guidelines, and they go even further than the previous ones in attacking nutritious foods like full-fat dairy, red meat, and any food with saturated fat.
The Dietary Guidelines form the basis of federal nutrition policy and food assistance programs, so the effects can be very far-reaching.
Symposium Free for the Public and Government Officials through Live Streaming

Action alert from the Weston A. Price Foundation:
HR 4432- GMO Labeling Laws
The biotech companies and Big Food are trying to block your right to know whether the food you’re eating contains genetically modified organisms (GMO).
With their anti-labeling allies such as Monsanto and Dow, the Grocery Manufacturers Association has convinced Congressman Mike Pompeo of Kansas to introduce a federal bill, HR 4432, which would:
- Prevent states from adopting their own GMO labeling laws.
- Block any attempt by states to make it illegal for food companies to put a “natural” label on products that contain GMO ingredients.
Houston is lucky this year! The Weston A. Price Foundation (WAPF) has chosen Houston to be the location of one of their two regional conferences for 2014. The WAPF has one major international conference each year (last one was in Atlanta, November 2013) and two regional conferences. We don’t need to travel far to hear national speakers and learn more about eating traditional foods to promote good health.
Although there is much more to come, here is the information we have now about the program and the speakers.
