Harris County raw milk case goes to trial Wednesday, June 14, 2017!

Action alert from the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance:

Grade A Raw Milk For SaleAfter several delays, Harris County is pressing forward with the prosecution of a woman who picks up raw milk from a licensed farm for herself and others.

We ask that if you are in or near Harris County, please support this woman & local food consumers by appearing at the trial in Pasadena next Wednesday, June 14. Details are below.

While the Texas Department of State Health Services initiated the harassment of raw milk farmers and consumers last summer, it later stated that it will not pursue customers who are making legal purchases, nor the people they hire as agents to pick up milk for them. (Read more here.)

Texas Legislative Update as of February 6, 2017 (FARFA)

News from the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance:

Texas Legislative Update as of  February 6, 2017

A fifth bill that we’ve been working on has been filed by Sen. Judith Zaffirini (D-Laredo). The Agriculture & Rural Ombudsman Bill provides assistance with the maze of regulations from multiple agencies that small-scale farmers must navigate.

SB 656 would establish an office of agriculture & rural ombudsman within the Department of Economic Development & Tourism, to help farmers and food producers understand what is required of them and to communicate with the agencies when there are conflicting interpretations.

VAXXED – the film they don’t want you to see! Now you can see it in Houston!

Vaxxed the Movie

You have probably heard of the movie VAXXED.  Houston officials banned the movie from being shown at the WorldFest Houston International Film Festival in April.  It was also banned at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

It is now being shown in theaters around the country, often to sell-out crowds.  It has widely been called “anti-vaccine” by the mainstream media; however, that is not the message of the film.  VAXXED is primarily about the coverup at the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) of a significant study of a potential link between the MMR vaccine combination and autism.

New Local Food Sources

Houston and southeast Texas is fortunate to have a year-round growing season and we are usually blessed with an abundance of locally produced vegetables and fruits as well as grassfed beef and meat from other pastured animals.  Our list has just gotten a little bit longer.

We’ve added new sources for organically grown vegetables and fruits and traditional animal fats to our Local Food & Milk page.

Mood Dog Farms ProduceMoon Dog Farms in Santa Fe, TX, is a Certified Naturally Grown farm that sells beyond organic produce at Galveston’s Own Farmers’ Market and to local restaurants.
