We conducted a survey recently and found out that the number one reason people attend the conference was to learn about nutrition and natural health from our many excellent speakers, and I know you won’t be disappointed with the upcoming conference.  We pride ourselves in presenting the very latest knowledge about nutrition, from the most experienced speakers—not a lot of hype and product promotion, but real, in-depth information that will help you take your health to new heights!

You will find information at every level of complexity.  For the scientist and health practitioner, we have presentations on the technical side from popular favorites like Stephanie Seneff, Chris Masterjohn, Tom Cowan and Pam Schoenfeld.  For those keen to learn as much as they can to treat themselves and care for family members, we have talks on a wide range of subjects, including hormone health, natural fertility, baby care, autism, brain and eye health, diabetes, and vaccines versus natural immunity.

For the newcomer, there is my own seminar on nourishing traditional diets and a range of practical talks on traditional food preparation, as well as inspiring presentations on farming and gardening.


Every year we try to put together a schedule featuring returning favorites as well as new faces.  We look forward to hearing from many newcomers to our roster this year, including Ronda Nelson, Lindsay Willon and Karen Lyke on hormone health, Chris Knobbe on preventing macular degeneration, Jodi Ledley on overcoming migraines and Amy Berger on preventing Alzheimers.  Also, in the practical tracks and farming and gardening tracks, we have many new and inspiring experts.

Our keynote speaker, the entertaining Zoe Harcombe, comes to us from the UK.  You will enjoy her insightful and humorous debunking of the crazy notion that cholesterol and saturated fat cause disease.


As far as I know, we are the only conference of this type that provides five meals showcasing our dietary principles. If you are new to the Wise Traditions diet, you will be pleased to learn how delicious our way of eating can be and inspired to implement these principles in your own diet.


We have many ways for you to save on costs—in fact, we don’t want anyone to be left out of Wise Traditions 2017.  We have 40 full conference scholarships available, thanks to the generosity of the Forrest and Francis Lattner Foundation; we also have work scholarships for registering at a reduced rate.  Room share and ride share is available to those trying to keep their expenses down.  Also, this year we are offering a reduced-rate conference registration without meals as well as one-day tickets and a weekend-only package.


Finally, we are trying something new for Wise Traditions 2017. Normally I give my Nourishing Traditional Diets seminar for newcomers on Friday, but this year I’ll be doing this on Saturday, for a special reduced fee of $60, and that includes lunch.  This is a perfect way to participate at a low cost and introduce our message to other, especially for those within driving distance.  Space for the seminar is limited to 200, so don’t wait to register!


This year we have streamlined our Monday activities to include just three.  First is our ever-popular farm tour with Will Winter and Kathy Kramer.

Second is an all-day seminar by Chris Masterjohn , PhD, who will focus on the fat-soluble activators as the basis of good health.  This seminar is a fantastic opportunity for those who want to explore the subject in depth and have plenty of time to ask questions of Chris in this small group setting.


Finally, I will be teaching the cooking class this year!  We are calling it a Master Cooking Class.  We will cover the basics, plus three complete meals, with lots of discussion on what to do with leftovers.  I will have a special focus on sauces and gravies—basic techniques that give you the tools to be a master chef.  Again, space is very limited for this class, so don’t wait to register if you want to participate.
