News from the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance:
Local Foods Awareness Day at the Capitol on Thursday, March 9
Please help us promote the passage of bills that will enhance the ability of small farmers to make a living … and that increase consumer access to local foods! Join us for our Local Foods Awareness Day at the Capitol on Thursday, March 9.
Together with farmers and local food consumers from around the state, you’ll be on the front lines educating legislators about the issues important to our movement.
We know that many people have never met with legislators and this may be intimidating, but don’t worry. It’s not hard, and we’ll walk you through every step. Many past participants have told us how much fun they had becoming an active part of this work.
We’ll help you prepare during our 90-minute webinar on February 28, which will provide you with all you need to know about those bills and about how to have a productive meeting with state legislators. You will receive details on how to login for the Webinar when you sign up for the Local Foods Awareness Day.
And if you are a farmer and find it difficult to leave your work for a day, we are offering stipends to help with travel and temporary laborer expenses, thanks to a generous grant from Farm Aid. Please email Judith@FarmAndRanchFreedom.org for more information.
Please share this alert with your friends and colleagues, including via your social networks. Successful grassroots action takes an effort by MANY people.
