Tell EPA to Lower Glyphosate Tolerance Levels – Protect Our Health and the Environment!

Action alert from the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund:

Deadline for Comments July 1, 2013 before midnight

Roundup EPA action alertThe Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a new rule raising the allowed residue levels of Monsanto’s herbicide glyphosate (Roundup) on food crops and more. The regulation went into effect May 1, 2013.

Tell the EPA to use the latest independent science rather than depending on industry-funded, outdated studies supplied by Monsanto!

The EPA took this action even though the scientific evidence is growing that glyphosate can cause serious health problems.

Lawsuit Opens Up New Legal Front Against Swine ISO

Action alert from the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund:

Heritage pigFor over a year now, four different lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of a Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Invasive Species Order on swine have been making their way through Michigan county courts. Recently a fifth lawsuit was filed in the Federal District Court for the Western District of Michigan challenging the swine ISO on grounds that an 1842 Treaty between the Lake Superior Chippewa Indian Tribe and the United States of America controls over any Michigan laws. The Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund (FTCLDF) is serving as custodian of the funding provided for the lawsuit.

Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund Fundraiser

FTCLDF logoThe Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund (FTCLDF) is currently defending Vernon Hershberger in a food freedom trial in Wisconsin.  “Vernon, as a longtime member of the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund, is receiving free legal representation valued at tens of thousands of dollars. In addition to the legal fees, the Fund is paying for all court costs and expert witness expenses.”

FTCLDF is very active in protecting our food rights.  I’m a consumer member because I want to help ensure that our farmers continue to have the right to produce healthy food and that we continue to have the right to purchase that food.

The Senate is expected to limit the number of amendments to be debated, so it’s important to let your Senators know NOW that these amendments are important to you.
